The Prince of Wales meets with Lionesses squad at St George's Park

Today the Prince of Wales, in his role as President of The FA, visited St. George’s Park, to meet with the England Women’s team and wish them luck ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is taking place across Australia and New Zealand this summer.

At St. George’s Park, England’s national football centre, The Prince met with the Lionesses squad and staff, including head England Coach Sarina Wiegman, who he surprised with the presentation of an Honorary C.B.E.

Following this, The Prince dropped in on staff and players to discuss how they are preparing for the World Cup and heard from players with tournament experience as well as those who will be competing in their first World Cup.



The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup will run between 20th July – 20th August. England are one of 32 nations taking part in the FIFA Women’s World, marking the largest number of nations taking place in the tournament to date. England’s first match will see them play against Haiti on the 22nd July.
