The Duchess of Cornwall visits the National Theatre
Published
The Duchess of Cornwall today made her first visit to the National Theatre since the announcement that Her Royal Highness would take on the role of Royal Patron.
Since 1963, the National Theatre has shared unforgettable stories with audiences across the world, empowering artists and craftspeople, investing in talent, and developing new productions with a range of theatre companies.
The National Theatre’s ‘Public Acts’ initiative creates extraordinary acts of theatre and community. The programme creates ambitious new works, built on sustained partnerships with theatres and community organisations who share the vision of theatre as a force for change.
Today, after watching a short rehearsal of 'The Odyssey' performed by Public Acts, The Duchess was invited up on stage to meet staff and members of the production team who bring the theatre's shows to life.
