The Duke of Edinburgh this morning departed from Royal Air Force Northolt for Malta. His Royal Highness was received this afternoon at Malta International Airport, Valletta, by the British High Commissioner to Malta (His Excellency Mr. Howard Pearce). The Duke of Edinburgh, Founder and Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award International Association, this afternoon attended the President's Award - Malta Gold Award Ceremony at the Palace, Valletta. His Royal Highness, Life Member, this evening attended the Royal British Legion (Malta Branch) Reception at 111 Mellita Street, Valletta. The Duke of Edinburgh, Founder and Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award International Association, afterwards attended a President's Award - Malta Dinner at Ir-Razzett Tal-Hbiberija, Marsascala. Brigadier Miles Hunt-Davis is in attendance.

Princess Alexandra, President, accompanied by the Rt. Hon. Sir Angus Ogilvy, this afternoon visited the Imperial Cancer Research Fund Shop at 56 Castle Street, Forfar, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Angus (the Earl of Airlie KT). Her Royal Highness subsequently opened Newfordpark Weaving Facility at Don and Low Limited, Glamis Road, Forfar, Angus. Princess Alexandra, Deputy President of the British Red Cross Society, with Sir Angus Ogilvy, later visited the British Red Cross Shop at 314 Perth Road, Dundee, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Dundee (Mrs. Helen Wright, the Lord Provost). Her Royal Highness, Patron of Leeds Castle Foundation, was represented by the Lord Thomson of Monifieth KT at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Mrs. Edward Remington-Hobbs which was held in St. Nicholas' Church, Leeds, Maidstone, Kent, today.

The Duke of Kent this morning visited SMS Technologies, Elizabeth Way, Harlow, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Braybrooke). His Royal Highness, President, this afternoon visited the Scout Association at Gilwell Park, Chingford, Essex.

The Duke of Gloucester, President, this morning visited St. Bartholomew's Hospital, West Smithfield, London EC1. Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke of Gloucester were represented by Miss Jane Egerton-Warburton at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir Dudley Forwood, Bt. which was held in the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Ringwood, Hampshire, this morning.

Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Bradford today had the honour of being received by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, Colonel-in-Chief, The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment), upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion. Lieutenant Colonel Michael Riddell-Webster also had the honour of being received by Her Majesty upon assuming his appointment as Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment).

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award International Foundation, accompanied by The Countess of Wessex, this afternoon departed from Farnborough Airport for Lisbon, Portugal, and they were met by Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Republic of Portugal (His Excellency Sir John Holmes). Later Their Royal Highnesses attended a Premio Infante D. Henrique Gold Award ceremony followed by a reception for the Gold Award achievers and their parents at Torre de Belem, Lisbon. This evening The Earl and Countess of Wessex attended a reception, concert and dinner in support of the Premio Infante D. Henrique at Palacio de Quelez, Lisbon. Lieutenant-Colonel Sean O'Dwyer is in attendance.

The Prince of Wales this morning attended a presentation by the Canadian Youth Business Foundation. His Royal Highness later visited Scott Collegiate Secondary School. Later The Prince of Wales visited the Albert Community Centre's "Chilli for Children" programme. His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Canadian Air Reserve, this afternoon visited the Canadian Forces Base, Moose Jaw, and was received by the Wing Commander, Colonel Bruce McQuade. Later The Prince of Wales visited the community of Assiniboia where he was received by His Worship Renaud Bissonnette, the Mayor of Assiniboia. His Royal Highness unveiled the corner stone of The Prince of Wales Cultural and Recreational Centre, Assiniboia. The Prince of Wales later met local organic farmers and their families. His Royal Highness later visited the Prairie Rubber Corporation recycling plant. This evening The Prince of Wales returned to Regina.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Joint Patron, today attended the Interfaith Foundation Conference at St. George's House, Windsor Castle, and this evening attended the Interfaith Foundation Conference Dinner at St. George's House.

Princess Alexandra, Patron and Air Chief Commandant of Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service, this afternoon received Air Commodore R. H. Williams upon retiring as Matron-in-Chief and Group Captain R. A. Reid upon assuming the appointment. Her Royal Highness was represented by Major Sir Peter Clarke at the Memorial Service for the Right Reverend Simon Phipps which was held in Southwark Cathedral, London SE1, this afternoon.

The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this morning attended the Grand Chapter's Annual Investiture at the United Grand Lodge of England, Freemasons' Hall, London WC2. His Royal Highness, President, this evening attended the Annual Dinner of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club at the Institute of Directors, Pall Mall, London SW1.
