The Princess Royal this morning opened the new school office at Patchakan Village Primary School, Corozal, North Belize. Her Royal Highness later visited San Lazaro Village Roman Catholic Primary School, Orange Walk. The Princess Royal this afternoon visited the Mennonite Community at Blue Creek Village, Central Belize. Her Royal Highness afterwards visited the Rio Bravo Conservation and Management Area, Central Belize. The Princess Royal this evening attended a Reception given by the British High Commissioner for Belize (His Excellency Mr. Timothy David) at the Residence in Belmopan.

The Prince of Wales this evening attended a variety performance for the Farm Aid Appeal at The Royal Albert Hall, London SW7.

Mrs. Michael Gordon Lennox has succeeded the Hon. Mrs. Rhodes as Lady in Waiting to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

The Princess Royal this morning departed from Royal Air Force Lyneham for Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, the Commonwealth of Dominica and Bermuda. Her Royal Highness this afternoon arrived at Belize and was received by the Governor-General (His Excellency Sir Colville Young). The Princess Royal later called upon the Prime Minister of Belize at Old Treasury Building, Belize City. Her Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception given by the Belize Tourist Board at the Château Caribbean Hotel, Belize City. Mrs. David Bowes-Lyon and Colonel Timothy Earl are in attendance.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, The Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons), was represented by Brigadier Anthony Findlay at the Funeral and Memorial Service for Lieutenant General Sir Derek Lang which was held in Canongate Kirk, Edinburgh, this morning. The Lady Susan Hussey has succeeded the Hon. Mary Morrison as Lady in Waiting to The Queen.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended the Maundy Service in Westminster Abbey at which Her Majesty distributed the Royal Maundy. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were received by the Dean of Westminster (the Very Reverend Dr. Wesley Carr). The Right Reverend Nigel McCulloch (Lord High Almoner) and the Reverend Prebendary William Booth (Sub-Almoner) were present. The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeoman of the Guard were on duty.

Princess Alexandra, Patron of English National Opera, this afternoon received Mr. John Baker upon retiring as Chairman and Mr. Martin Smith upon assuming the appointment.

The Duchess of Gloucester, President, this afternoon attended a showcase performance by postgraduate musical theatre students at the Royal Academy of Music, Marylebone Road, London NW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, accompanied by The Countess of Wessex, this evening attended a Concert given by the National Children's Orchestra of Scotland and Camerata Scotland in the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, and was received by Lady Arbuthnott (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, Outward Bound Trust, attended the Morning Meeting at Willauer School, Thompson Island, Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America. His Royal Highness also attended a briefing on the Outward Bound and Boston Public Schools Choices programme in the Lewis Library, Willauer School, and later visited students from the Choices programme participating in a Search and Rescue exercise at the Farm Site. The Duke of York, Chairman of the Trustees, this afternoon departed Boston for New York upon the conclusion of His Royal Highness's Outward Bound Trust engagements. Captain Richard Dilworth was in attendance.
