Baltic State Visits announced

THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY THE PRESS SECRETARY TO THE QUEEN

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will make State Visits to the Baltic states in October as follows:

At the invitation of President Valdas Adamkus, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Lithuania from 17th to 18th October.

At the invitation of President Vaira Vike-Freiberga, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Latvia from 18th to 19th October.

At the invitation of President Arnold Ruutel, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Estonia from 19th to 20th October.

Background

This will be the first time that The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have visited these countries.

President Adamkus, President Vike-Freiberga and President Ruutel have each met The Queen during their respective official visits to the UK in July.
