  • National Coastwatch Institution

    Monitors all shipping, leisure and commercial craft using the waters around Portland Bill and watches out for people using land and sea areas around the Bill. It is part of Dorset Search and Rescue and works closely with HM Coastguards, Search and Rescue helicopters, RNLI, UK Border Agency, Immigration, Drug Alliance, Dorset Police and the Marine Police.
