    The King received the Bishop of Liverpool (the Right Reverend Dr. John Perumbalath) this afternoon who did homage upon his appointment.

    His Majesty received the Bishop of Newcastle (the Right Reverend Dr. Helen-Ann Macleod Hartley) who did homage upon her appointment.

    The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance and administered the Oaths.

    The Bishop of Carlisle was afterwards received by The King.

    The President of the Federative Republic of Brazil spoke to His Majesty via telephone this evening.
