The Princess Royal this afternoon departed Heathrow Airport, London, for Canada and was received upon arrival at Fredericton International Airport, New Brunswick, by the Lieutenant Governor (Her Honour Ms. Brenda Murphy).

The Duke of Kent, Royal Colonel, 1st Battalion The Rifles, this evening took the salute from the War Memorial, Chepstow, at a Parade through the town and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Gwent (Brigadier Robert Aitken).

Her Excellency Mrs. Carmen Maria Gallardo Hernández was received in audience by The King today and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of El Salvador to the Court of St. James's.

Mr. F. Xavier Hernández was also received by His Majesty.

His Excellency Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía was received in audience by The King and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Apostolic Nuncio from the Holy See to the Court of St. James's.

Sir Philip Barton (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs) was present.

His Majesty this afternoon presented the Queen Elizabeth II Design Award for British Design at 180 Studios, 180 Strand, London WC2, and was received by Mr. Stuart Shilson (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London), the President and Chief Executive Officer, British Fashion Council (Mrs. Caroline Rush), Mr. David Pemsel (Director, British Fashion Council) and the Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster (Councillor Patricia McAllister).

The King met recipients of scholarships and designer support schemes, leading figures in the fashion industry and those championing sustainable fashion, before visiting the studio of the winner.

The Queen, Patron, National Literacy Trust, this morning received Mr. Giles Brandreth (Trustee, The Queen's Reading Room).

Her Majesty, Patron, National Literacy Trust, this afternoon visited Shirehampton Primary School, St. Mary's Walk, Shirehampton, to celebrate the Coronation Libraries Programme and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol (Mrs. Peaches Golding).

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning attended the Wessex Heritage Trust Service of Rededication at Longleat Estate and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire (Mrs. Peter Troughton).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Northern Ballet, this evening attended a performance of "the Great Gatsby" at Sadler's Wells Theatre, Rosebery Avenue, London EC1.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning visited Berkshire College of Agriculture, Hall Place, Burchetts Green, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr. James Puxley).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Meeting with representatives from the Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture at Berkshire College of Agriculture.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, England Hockey, afterwards visited Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, Bisham Village, Marlow Road, Bisham, and was received by Mr. Andrew Try (Deputy Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire).

The Prince of Wales, Commodore-in-Chief, Submarines, this morning met submariners who rowed across the Atlantic in HMS OARDACIOUS, at Eton College Rowing Centre, Dorney Lake, Windsor, Berkshire.

The Duke of Gloucester and The Duchess of Gloucester, President, this evening attended a performance by the Royal Academy Opera of "La Cambiale di Matrimonio" at the Royal Academy of Music, Marylebone Road, London NW1.

Buckingham Palace

The King and Queen this morning visited St. Paul's Church, Bedford Street, London WC2, to mark its Three Hundred and Ninetieth Anniversary and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa) and the Rector (the Reverend Simon Grigg).

Their Majesties, escorted by the Rector, entered the Church via the Diamond Jubilee Garden and met trustees, churchwardens and members of Church staff.

The King met representatives from the Covent Garden Community Association, actors and members of the theatre community.

The Queen met representatives from the Drama for Healing Group.

Their Majesties afterwards walked through the West Piazza and were received at the Apple Market by the Chief Executive Officer of Shaftesbury Capital (Mr. Ian Hawksworth).

The King, escorted by the Chief Executive Officer, and The Queen, escorted by Ms. Michelle McGrath (Executive Director, Shaftesbury Capital), visited stallholders in Covent Garden Market before continuing on foot towards the Royal Opera House and being received at the Colonnade by the Chairman of the Royal Opera House (Sir Lloyd Dorfman) and meeting performers, students of the Royal Ballet School and members of Royal Opera House staff.

The King this afternoon held a Reception for The Prince's Trust Awards at Buckingham Palace.

The King held a Council at 4.00 p.m..

Mr. Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning visited the Children's Sailing Trust, Trevassack Lake, Helston, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Edward Bolitho).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Falmouth University, Falmouth Campus, Woodlane, Falmouth.

The Duchess of Edinburgh later visited Colwith Farm Distillery, Crewell Moor, Pelyn Cross, Lanlivery.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, National Coastwatch Institution, this afternoon visited Gosport Station, Signal Tower, Fort Blockhouse, Gosport, Hampshire, and subsequently attended a Reception at Hornet Services Sailing Club, Haslar Road, Gosport.
