    St. James's Palace

    The Duke of Kent, President, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, this morning attended the unveiling of the "Rescue" statue to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of Salcombe Lifeboat Station at Kingsbridge Quay, 1 Promenade, Kingsbridge, and was received by the Countess of Arran (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Devon). His Royal Highness later reviewed the Royal National Lifeboat Institution commemorative fleet in Salcombe Harbour before visiting the Lifeboat Museum, Custom House Quay, Salcombe. The Duke of Kent subsequently attended the unveiling of a second commemorative statue, "Baltic Exchange III", at Devon Road Garden followed by a visit to Holy Trinity Church, Salcombe, and the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary Bazaar at Cliff Road, Salcombe. His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Lunch to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of Salcombe Lifeboat Station at Salcombe Yacht Club, Cliff House, Cliff Road, Salcombe.

    The Prince of Wales today undertook engagements in the Netherlands to commemorate the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of Operation Market Garden and was received by Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands (His Excellency the Hon. Peter Wilson). His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment, this morning joined Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands at a Service of Remembrance, Ginkel Heath, Arnhem. The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited St. Eusebius Church, Arnhem, to mark the completion of restoration work. His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Commemorative Service in Driel. The Prince of Wales later attended a Reception at the Airborne Museum, Oosterbeek.

    The Countess of Wessex today undertook engagements in Nairobi, Kenya. Her Royal Highness this morning attended a Roundtable Discussion at the International Peace Support Training Centre, Karen. The Countess of Wessex later attended a Meeting with the British Peace Support Team at the International Peace Support Training Centre. Her Royal Highness this afternoon attended the Commonwealth Women's Affairs Ministerial Meeting at the Mövenpick Hotel and Residences Nairobi. The Countess of Wessex subsequently attended a Lunch for Ministers given by the Commonwealth Secretary-General (the Baroness Scotland of Asthal) at the Mövenpick Hotel and Residences Nairobi. Her Royal Highness afterwards attended the launch of the Platform for Girls' Education Paper and visited Moi Girls' School. The Countess of Wessex this evening attended a Dinner at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill. Her Royal Highness later departed from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, for the United Kingdom.
