    Windsor Castle

    The Queen arrived at Cardiff Central Railway Station this morning and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Mrs. Morfudd Meredith), the Secretary of State for Wales (the Rt. Hon. Simon Hart, MP), and the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor of Cardiff (Councillor Roderick McKerlich).

    Her Majesty was received with a Gun Salute fired at Cardiff Pierhead by 104 Regiment, Royal Artillery.

    The Queen drove to Senedd Cymru - Welsh Parliament to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Senedd and was received by Sir Brooke Boothby, Bt. (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan), the Presiding Officer for the Senedd (Ms. Elin Jones, MS) and the First Minister of Wales (the Rt. Hon. Mark Drakeford, MS).

    The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall received The Queen inside the Senedd.

    A Guard of Honour was found beside the Senedd by the Royal Navy with the Band of the Royal Marines.

    Her Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses entered the Siambr/Chamber where the Presiding Officer welcomed The Queen and Her Majesty addressed the Members of Senedd Cymru - Welsh Parliament and signed a Commemorative Parchment, and the First Minister replied.

    Afterwards The Queen, escorted by the Presiding Officer, and The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, escorted by the First Minister and Mr. David Rees, MS (Deputy Presiding Officer), met members of the first Youth Parliament and Members of the Senedd.
