    The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon opened Workington Academy, Stainburn Road, Workington, in support of Cumbria Education Trust, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria (Mrs. Peter Hensman).

    Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Hospice at Home, Carlisle and North Lakeland, Valley Court, Barras Lane, Dalston, Carlisle, to mark the Twentieth Anniversary.

    The Duchess of Gloucester later opened the Christopher Soper Design Centre at Stead McAlpin and Company Limited, Cummersdale Print Works, Carlisle.
