    His Excellency Mr. Phongsavanh Sisoulath was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Lao People's Democratic Republic to the Court of St. James's. Mrs. Sisoulath was also received by Her Majesty. His Excellency Mr. Fesseha Shawel Gebre was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Court of St. James's. Mrs. Asegedech Amberber was also received by Her Majesty. Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present. The Rt. Hon. Boris Johnson MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this afternoon.

    Her Excellency Ms Lakisha Grant was received by The Queen today upon her appointment as High Commissioner for Grenada in London. The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty's Ambassadors: Mr. Simon Boyden (the Islamic Republic of Mauritania) and Ms. Catherine Evans (the Republic of Mali). Mrs. Nathalie Gallagher was also received by Her Majesty. The Duke of Cambridge, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

    Her Excellency Mrs. Gurly Gibson was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of her predecessor and her own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Liberia to the Court of St. James's. Mr. Harold Schwarz was also received by Her Majesty. His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Abdalla Idris Mohamed was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Sudan to the Court of St. James's. Mrs. Idris was also received by Her Majesty. Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present. His Excellency the Right Reverend David Vunagi was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as Governor-General of Solomon Islands when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George. Mrs. Vunagi was also received by The Queen. The Rt. Hon. Boris Johnson MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

    The Queen, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, this morning attended a Service to Celebrate the Seven Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the re-building of Westminster Abbey, London SW1, and was received at the Great West Gate by the Dean (the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall) and, at the Great West Door, by the Chapter.

    The Queen, accompanied by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, travelled in State to the Palace of Westminster today to open the Session of Parliament. Her Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses drove in a Carriage Procession, escorted by a Sovereign's Escort of The Household Cavalry, under the command of Major Jack Barnes, The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), and were received at the Sovereign's Entrance by the Earl Marshal and the Lord Great Chamberlain. The Queen's Guard was found by 5th Battalion The Rifles, under the command of Major Robert Fellowes and a Guard of Honour was mounted at the Palace of Westminster by 1st Battalion Welsh Guards with The Queen's Colour, under the command of Major Christopher Davies. A staircase party of The Household Cavalry was on duty at Victoria Tower, House of Lords, under the command of Captain Steven Mansfield, The Life Guards. Royal Salutes were fired in Green Park by The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, under the command of Major Victoria Flood, and from the Tower of London Saluting Battery by the Honourable Artillery Company, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Chorley. The Imperial State Crown, the Cap of Maintenance and the Sword of State were conveyed previously to the House of Lords in a Carriage Procession, escorted by a Regalia Escort of the Household Cavalry. Her Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms was on duty in the Prince's Chamber and the Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty in the Royal Gallery. The Watermen were on duty. The Ladies and Gentlemen of the Household and the Pages of Honour to The Queen (Lord Culloden, Max Bowen, Robert Bruce and Lord Claud Hamilton) were in attendance at the Palace of Westminster. Her Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses returned to Buckingham Palace and were received by the Lord Chamberlain and the Vice-Chamberlain of the Household.

    The Queen, Patron, this morning opened the Centenary Development at Haig Housing Trust, Alban Dobson House, Green Lane, Morden, Surrey, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), the Chairman of Trustees (Mrs. Catherine Lester-Walker), Brigadier James Richardson (Chief Executive) and the Mayor of Merton (Councillor Janice Howard). The Queen met residents and beneficiaries before viewing the new buildings, and visiting a family in their home. Her Majesty subsequently met members of staff, supporters and those involved in the design and construction of the new development.
