    Ms. Cressida Dick was received by The Queen today upon her appointment as Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis.

    The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty's Ambassadors: Mrs. Sharon Campbell (non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Haiti) and Mr. Christopher Campbell (Dominican Republic), Mr. Iain Lindsay (Republic of Hungary) and Mr. James Thornton (Plurinational State of Bolivia).

    Mrs. Lindsay and Mrs. Thornton were also received by Her Majesty.

    Ms. Joanne Lomas was received in audience by The Queen upon her appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Namibia.

    Mr. Christopher Finucane was also received by Her Majesty.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

    The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, The Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal, Princess Beatrice of York, The Duke of Kent and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were present.

    Her Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

    The Bands of the Welsh Guards and the Royal Armoured Corps played selections of music during the afternoon.
