    Windsor Castle

    The Queen today held a Meeting with Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and Head of the Diplomatic Service) via video link.

    Her Majesty met Ms. Miriam Escofet (portrait artist) who, with Sir Simon McDonald, unveiled a commissioned portrait of The Queen on behalf of Her Majesty.

    The Queen heard about the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's contribution to the Covid-19 pandemic response and spoke to two members of staff about their roles.

    By command of Her Majesty, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) telephoned His Excellency Dr. Rizal Sukma this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Indonesia to the Court of St. James's.
