The Queen arrived at Balmoral Castle today, was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire (Mr. Alexander Manson) and then inspected the Royal Guard found by Balaklava Company, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
By command of The Queen, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Omar Barakat Mnawer Al Nahar at 19 Wycombe Square, London W8, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Court of St. James's.

Her Royal Highness later visited Imerys Minerals Limited at Littlejohns Pit, Karslake Mine, West Gunheath, Carthew, to mark the Mine's Two Hundred and Seventy Fifth Anniversary.
The Princess Royal afterwards opened the Roger Preston Gallery at the Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum, St. Austell.
