The Earl of Wessex, Vice Patron, Commonwealth Games Federation, later held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace. His Royal Highness, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, afterwards held a Meeting for The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation. The Earl of Wessex, Patron, British Ski and Snowboard, this evening attended a Dinner at St. James's Palace.

    The Princess Royal today carried out the following engagements in West Yorkshire and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant (Dame Ingrid Roscoe). Her Royal Highness this morning visited Ginetta Cars, Isabella Road, Garforth, Leeds. The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Cryer and Stott Cheesemongers, Samuel Valentine, 20-24 Station Road, Allerton Bywater, Castleford. Her Royal Highness later visited Scientific Games International Limited, 3 George Mann Road, Leeds. The Princess Royal afterwards opened Leeds College of Building, Hunslet Campus, Cudbear Street, Leeds.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Sir David Brewer KG (formerly Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Lord Imbert (formerly Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London) which was held in the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, London WC2, this morning. The Princess Royal was represented by Lady Carew Pole. The Duke of Kent was represented by Mr. Nicholas Marden. By command of The Queen, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Pasquale Terracciano at 4 Grosvenor Square, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Italian Republic to the Court of St. James's. By command of Her Majesty, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps afterwards called upon His Excellency Dr. Peter Ammon at 22 Belgrave Square, London SW1, in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Federal Republic of Germany to the Court of St. James's.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, the National Literacy Trust, this morning visited the Clink Restaurant, HM Prison Styal, Wilmslow, and was received by Mrs. Joelle Warren (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire).
