    Balmoral Castle

    The King this morning visited Aboyne and Mid Deeside Community Shed, Cemetery Road, Aboyne, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire (Mr. Alexander Manson) and the Chairman of the Trustees (Mr. Michael Brooks).

    His Majesty, escorted by Mr. John Clement (Trustee), viewed craft skills in action and met local people who meet at the Shed, before touring the workshop, escorted by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant, and meeting representatives from local hardship groups and charities.

    St. James's Palace

    The Princess Royal today undertook engagements in Cyprus.

    Her Royal Highness this morning called upon The President of the Republic of Cyprus at the Presidential Palace, Nicosia.

    The Princess Royal afterwards attended a Meeting with Major General Ingrid Gjerde (Force Commander, United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus) and Mr. Aderemi Adekoya (Senior Advisor) at the UN Offices, UN Sector 2, Nicosia.

    Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Logistic Corps, later visited personnel serving with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus and toured the Buffer Zone, UN Sector 2, Nicosia.

    The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Logistic Corps, subsequently visited Wayne's Keep Military Cemetery, Myrtou Road, UN Buffer Zone, Nicosia.

    Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Logistic Corps, this afternoon visited the Regiment at Ledra Palace Hotel, Shakespeare Road, UN Sector 2, and viewed a Public Order Demonstration.

    The Princes Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Logistic Corps, afterwards visited the abandoned Nicosia International Airport, UN Sector 2.

    Her Royal Highness later opened Queen Berengaria Military School, Dhekelia Garrison, Eastern Sovereign Base Area.

    The Princess Royal, Colonel-in Chief, Royal Corps of Signals, subsequently attended a Briefing in the Dhekelia Operations Centre, Dhekelia Garrison.

    Her Royal Highness later attended a Reception at Dhekelia Station Officers' Mess, Dhekelia Garrison.

    The Princess Royal this evening arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from Cyprus.

    Commander Anne Sullivan RN was in attendance.

    The Princess Royal this morning departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Cyprus and was received upon arrival this evening at Larnaca International Airport by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Cyprus (His Excellency Mr. Irfan Siddiq).

    Her Royal Highness afterwards attended a Reception and Dinner given by the British High Commissioner at the Residence in Nicosia.

    Commander Anne Sullivan RN is in attendance.

    Today being the Feast of the Epiphany, a Sung Eucharist was held in the Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace, when the customary offerings of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh were made on behalf of The King by Major Grant Baker and Commodore Christopher Palmer RN (Gentlemen Ushers to His Majesty).

    The Bishop of London (Dean of His Majesty's Chapels Royal) presented the Offerings, assisted by the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Dean of His Majesty's Chapels Royal) and the Reverend William Whitcombe and the Reverend Prebendary Jonathan Osborne (Priests in Ordinary).

    The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty in the Chapel.

    The King was represented by Mr. David McCorkell (His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Mrs. Joan Christie (formerly His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim) which was held at St. Patrick's Parish Church, Castle Street, Ballymena, this morning.
