    Buckingham Palace

    The King and Queen of Spain, with the Spanish Suite in attendance, took leave of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning and left Buckingham Palace.

    Their Majesties, accompanied by The Duke of York, afterwards visited the Francis Crick Institute, 1 Midland Road, London NW1, and were received by the Chairman (Sir David Cooksey) and Sir Paul Nurse (Director and Chief Executive).

    The King and Queen of Spain, with His Royal Highness, toured the Institute and met members of the Spanish scientific community working at the Institute and members of the Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom.

    Their Majesties this afternoon visited the Weston Library, Broad Street, Oxford, and were received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mr. Timothy Stevenson) and the Chancellor of the University of Oxford (the Lord Patten of Barnes).

    The King and Queen of Spain, escorted by Ms. Catriona Cannon (Deputy Librarian and Keeper of Collections, Bodleian Library) and Dr. Virginia Llado-Buisan (Head of Conservation and Collection Care, Bodleian Library), viewed an exhibition of Spanish items in the University of Oxford archive.

    Their Majesties subsequently walked to the Divinity School and were entertained to Luncheon by the Chancellor of the University of Oxford.

    The King and Queen of Spain afterwards attended a Reception at Exeter College, Oxford, for members of the Spanish community at the University and were received by the Rector (Professor Sir Richard Trainor).

    The Earl Peel (Lord Chamberlain) was present at Royal Air Force Brize Norton later upon the Departure of The King and Queen of Spain and bade farewell to Their Majesties on behalf of The Queen upon the conclusion to the State Visit to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

    By command of The Queen, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Mazen Homoud at 6 Phillimore Gardens, London W8, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Court of St. James's.

    By command of Her Majesty, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps called upon His Excellency Mr. Eldred Bethel at 10 Chesterfield Street, London W1, today in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of the Bahamas in London.

    Buckingham Palace

    The King of Spain, accompanied by The Duke of York, this morning attended a United Kingdom-Spanish Business Forum at Mansion House, London EC4, and was received by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor (Alderman Dr. Andrew Parmley), the Rt. Hon. Dr. Liam Fox MP (Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade), Mr. José Luis Bonet (President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce) and Mr. Juan Rosell (President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Associations).

    His Majesty, accompanied by His Royal Highness, afterwards met United Kingdom and Spanish business leaders.

    The King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by Prince Henry of Wales, later drove to Westminster Abbey where His Majesty laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

    The King and Queen of Spain this afternoon attended a Reception at the Residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain for members of the Spanish community.

    His Majesty afterwards visited No. 10 Downing Street and had talks with the Prime Minister and subsequently was entertained to Luncheon by the Prime Minister on behalf of Her Majesty's Government.

    The King and Queen of Spain this evening received an Address of Welcome and were entertained at a Banquet by the Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation at Guildhall.

    The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence were present.

    The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this morning opened New Scotland Yard, the new Headquarters of the Metropolitan Police on Victoria Embankment, London SW1, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr. Kenneth Olisa) and the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis (Miss Cressida Dick).

    Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by the Commissioner and Mr. Craig Mackey (Deputy Commissioner), passed vintage police vehicles and two police horses before viewing historical items, including a Second World War uniform of a Woman Police Constable and the operational order for the Coronation, and viewing plans of the new building and a bomb disposal demonstration by a robot.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh subsequently viewed officers demonstrating "A day in the life of the Met" and met uniformed members of staff.

    Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards witnessed a salute performed by a Marine Policing Unit river boat and met "first responders" to the recent terrorist attacks in London, management board members, officers, cadets and members of staff.

    The Lord Peel (Lord Chamberlain) had an audience of The Queen this afternoon and presented an Address from the House of Lords to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

    Buckingham Palace

    The King and Queen of Spain today commenced a State Visit in London to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

    The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall welcomed Their Majesties on behalf of The Queen at ME London Hotel, 336-337, Strand, London WC2.

    The King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, drove to Horse Guards and were met by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

    The King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, with The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, drove in a Carriage Procession to Buckingham Palace with a Sovereign's Escort of the Household Cavalry.

    Gun Salutes were fired in Green Park by The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, and at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company.

    Guards of Honour were provided at Horse Guards and at Buckingham Palace by 1st Battalion Irish Guards.

    Her Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard and a Detachment of Household Cavalry were on duty.

    The King and Queen of Spain this afternoon visited The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall at Clarence House.

    Their Majesties later visited the Palace of Westminster and were received by the Lord Speaker (the Lord Fowler) and the Rt. Hon. John Bercow MP (Speaker of the House of Commons).

    The Speaker welcomed The King and Queen of Spain and His Majesty delivered an Address.

    The King and Queen of Spain subsequently attended a Reception with Peers, Members of Parliament and other guests.

    The Queen, Patron, Leonard Cheshire Disability, this morning visited Park House on the Sandringham Estate and viewed a new garden to commemorate the Centenary of the birth of the founder, the Lord Cheshire VC OM.

    The Hon. Malcolm Turnbull MP (Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia) was received by The Queen this afternoon.

    Mrs. Turnbull was also received by Her Majesty.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening gave a Reception for Winners of The Queen's Awards for Enterprise at Buckingham Palace.

    The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal and The Duke of Kent were present.

    The Viscount Brookeborough (Lord in Waiting) was present at Stansted Airport, London, this evening upon the Arrival of The King and Queen of Spain and welcomed Their Majesties on behalf of The Queen.

    Palace Of Holyroodhouse

    The Queen this morning visited Highland Spring Limited, Blackford, Perthshire, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Perth and Kinross (Brigadier Melville Jameson), Mr. Mohammed Mahdi Al Tajir (Owner), the Chief Executive (Mr. Leslie Montgomery) and Councillor Dennis Melloy (Provost of Perth and Kinross).

    Her Majesty met members of staff before visiting the new factory building containing the Bottling Hall and viewing the bottling process.

    The Queen afterwards started a new production line and opened the factory building, Ochils 2017.

    The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, today held Receptions at the Palace of Holyroodhouse for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Colonel Edward Bolitho (Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Lady Mary Holborow (formerly Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall) which was held in Truro Cathedral this afternoon.

    The Duke of York was represented by Captain Daniel Stembridge RN.

    Palace Of Holyroodhouse

    The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this morning opened the Queen Elizabeth II Canal at the Helix, Grangemouth, and was received at Sea Lock by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk (Mr. Alan Simpson), the Chairman of Scottish Canals (Mr. Andrew Thin) and Mr. S. Dunlop (Chief Executive Officer).

    Her Majesty and His Royal Highness embarked in the Seagull Trust boat THE WOODEN SPOON and travelled down the Western Approach to disembark at Kelpies Pool and were received by Ms. Ann Ritchie (Depute Provost of Falkirk Council).

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh witnessed a flypast by aircraft from the Scottish Airshow.

    Her Majesty and His Royal Highness afterwards entered into part of the "Kelpie" sculpture to view the engineering work and subsequently met groups of partners, stakeholders and community representatives outside the Visitor Centre.

    The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, and The Duke of Edinburgh today arrived at Stirling Castle and were received by the Hereditary Keeper (the Earl of Mar and Kellie) who surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the Castle, which Her Majesty returned to him.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were afterwards received by the Chairman of the Trustees of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Brigadier Bruce Russell) and the Colonel of The Royal Regiment of Scotland (Lieutenant General Andrew Graham) before proceeding to the Chapel Royal and being received by the Reverend Gavin Douglas (Regimental Chaplain).

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh attended a Commemoration Service to mark the Seventieth Anniversary of Her Majesty becoming Colonel-in-Chief of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and Patron of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Association, and the Seventieth Anniversary of the granting of the Freedom of the Royal Burgh of Stirling to The Queen and The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

    After the Service Her Majesty and His Royal Highness met supporters and staff and former members of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders before being entertained to Luncheon in the Great Hall by the Chairman of the Trustees.

    This afternoon The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh drove through the Castle grounds and received a Royal Salute before departure.

    Later the Prime Minister of Canada and Madame Trudeau were received by The Queen at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

    The Queen held an Investiture at the Palace of Holyroodhouse this morning.

    Afterwards Mr. Kenneth Mackintosh MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) was received by Her Majesty.

    The Rt. Hon. Nicola Sturgeon MSP (First Minister of the Scottish Government) was received by The Queen.

    Miss Rachel Wells was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested her with the Insignia of a Dame Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

    Mr. Walter Simpson, winner of the annual shooting event of The Queen's Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers, was presented to Her Majesty this afternoon and received The Queen's Prize.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

    The Duke of York was present.

    The Queen's Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

    The Royal Marine Band Scotland, the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Pipers' Society played selections of music during the afternoon.

    Palace Of Holyroodhouse

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at Edinburgh Airport this afternoon.

    The Queen drove to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and was received in the Forecourt by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Francis Ross, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost) and members of the City of Edinburgh Council, when the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost surrendered to The Queen the Keys of the City, which Her Majesty returned to him.

    A Guard of Honour found by Balaklava Company, The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, under the command of Major Colin Wood, was mounted in the Forecourt.

    Afterwards Her Majesty was received inside the Palace by the Hereditary Keeper (the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon).

    The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Member, Incorporation of Hammermen of Glasgow, this evening attended a Reception to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of The Prince Philip Prize, the Trades House of Glasgow, 85 Glassford Street, Glasgow, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Eva Bolander, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost).
