Buckingham Palace

The King this morning received representatives of the Weston Girls (a group of fifty Canadian women who visited the United Kingdom in 1953 to witness the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II).

His Majesty this afternoon received Senior Representatives from His Majesty's former and newly appointed Military Affiliations.

The King later visited the Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London WC2, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), the Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom (the Lord Leggatt) and Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley (Lord Mayor Locum Tenens).

His Majesty toured the Royal Courts, escorted by the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales (the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill), and met members of staff before viewing exhibits from the library.

The King met Diversity and Community Relations Judges and Magistrates and school pupils who had participated in a mock trial.

The Queen, Patron, Emmaus UK, this afternoon visited Emmaus Bristol, Backfields House, Upper York Street, St. Paul's, Bristol, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol (Mrs. Peaches Golding).

Her Majesty, Patron, the Children's Hospice South West, afterwards visited Charlton Farm Children's Hospice, Charlton Farm Road, Charlton Drive, Bristol, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Mr. Mohammed Saddiq).

The King was represented by the Earl of Dalhousie at the Funeral of Lady Penn (formerly Lady in Waiting to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother) which was held in Perth Cathedral this afternoon.

The Queen was represented by Mr. James Hambro.

The Princess Royal was represented by Mr. Stephen Leckie

The Duke of Kent was represented by Brigadier Sir Melville Jameson.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mr. Robert Balfour.

Buckingham Palace

The King and Queen this afternoon visited the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, Barnoon Hill, St. Ives, marking the Thirtieth Anniversary of Tate St. Ives, which manages the museum, and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall (Colonel Edward Bolitho), the Chairman of the Tate (Mr. Roland Rudd), the Chairman of Tate St. Ives (Sir Anthony Salz), Ms. Anne Barlow (Director of Tate St. Ives) and the Mayor of St. Ives (Councillor J. Wells).

Their Majesties toured the museum and garden, escorted respectively by Dr. Sophie Bowness (Granddaughter of Barbara Hepworth) and the Chairman of the Tate, and met young people from the Tate Collective programme, which organises events at the museum, and members of the local artistic community.

The King and Queen afterwards walked through St. Ives before arriving at St. Ives Harbour, Wharf Road, St. Ives, where Their Majesties met members of the Cornish community and listened to choristers from Truro Cathedral, before meeting a number of Coronation Champions and members of the St. Ives' Royal National Lifeboat Institution team.

The Queen later visited the Oasis Wellbeing Café the Columba Centre, West Street, St. Columb Major, and was received by Mr. James Williams (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall).

Her Majesty afterwards visited the Women's Centre Cornwall.

The King was represented by Admiral Sir Antony Radakin (Chief of the Defence Staff) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Admiral of the Fleet the Lord Boyce KG (former Chief of the Defence Staff) which was held in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, this morning.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Commander Robert Dixon RN.

The Princess Royal was represented by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Marshal of the Royal Air Force the Lord Stirrup KG.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Mr. Nicholas Adamson.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Prince Michael of Kent.

St. James's Palace

Princess Alexandra was represented by the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Dean of His Majesty's Chapels Royal) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Reverend Canon John Oates (formerly Rector of St. Bride's Church, Fleet Street), which was held at St. Bride's Church, London EC4, this afternoon.

St. James's Palace

Princess Alexandra this evening visited the Chelsea Flower Show of the Royal Horticultural Society in the Gardens of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.

Buckingham Palace

The Coronation of The King and Queen took place in Westminster Abbey today.

Their Majesties left Buckingham Palace at 10.20 o'clock this morning and proceeded in State to the Abbey, escorted by a Sovereign's Escort of the Household Cavalry, with Standard, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Armitage (The Life Guards).

The Archbishop of Canterbury conducted the Service.

The Prince and Princess of Wales with Prince George of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales and Prince Louis of Wales, The Duke of Sussex, The Duke of York, Princess Beatrice, Mrs. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank and Mr. Jack Brooksbank, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh with the Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Mr. Peter Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Tindall, The Earl of Snowdon, Viscount Linley and The Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, Mr. Daniel and The Lady Sarah Chatto and Mr. Samuel Chatto, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Earl of Ulster, The Lady Davina Lewis, The Lady Rose Gilman, The Duke of Kent, Earl of St. Andrews, The Lord Nicholas Windsor, The Lady Helen Taylor, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, The Lord Frederick Windsor, The Lady Gabriella Kingston, Princess Alexandra, the Hon. His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard, The King's Body Guard for Scotland (the Royal Company of Archers) and The King's Bargemaster and Watermen were on duty.

The King and Queen returned to the Palace at 1.08 o'clock.

Combined Guards of Honour of the three Services were mounted outside the Forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

Their Majesties this afternoon, from Buckingham Palace, witnessed a fly-past by aircraft of the Royal Air Force.

Members of Foreign Royal Families, Heads of State and Representatives from the Commonwealth were received and welcomed to the United Kingdom today on behalf of The King.
