Mr. Alastair Long was received in audience by The King and kissed hands upon his appointment as His Majesty's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Mrs. Long was also received by His Majesty.

Mrs. Alison Thorpe was received by The King upon her appointment as British High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Rwanda.

Ms. Naomi Adams, Mrs. Portman and Mrs. Squire were also received by His Majesty.

Mr. Barry Lowen was received in audience by The King upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Cameroon.

Mrs. Lowen was also received by His Majesty.

Mr. Nigel Casey was received in audience by The King and kissed hands upon his appointment as His Majesty's Ambassador to the Russian Federation.

Mrs. Casey was also received by His Majesty.

The King spoke to The President of the State of Israel via telephone this afternoon.

Afterwards His Majesty spoke to The King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan via telephone.

The King held a Council at 4.30 p.m..

The Queen this evening gave a Reception at Clarence House to mark the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Forward Arts Foundation.

The Princess Royal, on behalf of The King, held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.
