Death of the Rt Hon Sir Angus Ogilvy

THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY THE PRESS SECRETARY TO THE QUEEN

Sir Angus Ogilvy, husband of Princess Alexandra, died at the age of 76 on 26 December 2004.

The funeral of the late Sir Angus Ogilvy will take place on Wednesday, 5 January 2005 at 12.30 p.m. in St. George's Chapel, Windsor. The funeral will be private and will be attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Alexandra and other members of the Royal Family.

Due to the funeral service Windsor Castle will be closed to the public on 5 January 2005, and the Chapel will be closed from 3 to 5 January 2005 (inclusive).

A thanksgiving service is also planned. Details will be posted on this web site as soon as they are available.
