The Duchess of Cornwall takes part in a call with The Silver Line

Published

The Duchess of Cornwall, in her role as Patron of The Silver Line, joined a phone call with regular Silver Line user, ninety year old Betty, and Dame Esther Rantzen.

After meeting at an event with The Silver Line in 2017, Betty has written to The Duchess many times over the years, most recently after Her Royal Highness visited Auschwitz in January.

During the call, The Duchess of Cornwall, Dame Esther and Betty chatted about number of different topics, including how difficult it was being separated from family and what it was like during the war.

The Duchess commented:

I really miss my grandchildren. That’s the really strange thing about it, not being able to see your grandchildren and giving them a hug.

To end the call, Her Royal Highness said, "Stay safe everyone and see you when this is all over”.
