The Duke of Cambridge visits McLaren

The McLaren Production Centre is home to the innovation, development and production of McLaren’s road cars. The Centre's impressive building was designed by British architect Norman Foster, to reflect the company's design and engineering expertise. The Duke met the team behind the British automotive company, responsible for creating some of the world's most pioneering sports and supercars.







His Royal Highness learnt more about the evolution of McLaren vehicles through the years before visiting the factory floor of the McLaren Production Centre to walk the assembly line, where he met the world-class designers, engineers, and technicians behind the cars. The Duke was also introduced to some of the company's apprentices who are training to become the next generation of world-class automotive talent. McLaren has a track-record of opening up the industry to women, and The Duke spoke to some of the female employees from different parts of the company to hear more about their experiences in the sector.







At the end of his tour, The Duke christened one of the latest McLaren models by fixing a McLaren badge to it. The new model is now being exported around the world.
