Prior Park College Duke of Edinburgh Award students welcomed The Earl of Wessex to the College

As part of The Duke of Edinburgh Award's (DofE) Diamond Anniversary, The Earl is travelling around the UK to help celebrate the hard work of DofE Volunteers and the successes of DofE participants.

The DofE Award has helped to transform the lives of millions of young people in the UK and across the globe since it was founded in 1956.

The Award helps our young people to develop their confidence and self-reliance as well as the ability to work as part of a team

Undertaking either a Bronze, Silver or Gold DofE Award gives 14 to 24 year olds a unique opportunity to grow as young adults, gaining valuable life experience while developing essential employability skills. Setting their own challenges and learning practical skills helps to prepare each individual for the world of work.

Prior Park College had 24 pupils from Years 10 and 12 participating in the event, with the College’s DofE staff in support including Mr Sean Dorey, Ms Vicki McConaghie, Mrs Fran Sillars and Mrs Maria Huntley.
