The King today attended the start of the London leg of the Australian Legacy Centenary Torch Relay in the Quadrangle of Buckingham Palace and received the High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Australia in London (His Excellency the Hon. Stephen Smith), the Chairman of Legacy Australia (Mr. Eric Easterbrook) and the Head of the Australian Defence Staff in London (Brigadier Grant Mason).
The King this afternoon received representatives from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at Windsor Castle upon His Majesty's appointment as Commissioner-in-Chief and to mark the Institution's One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary.
The King was received in the Quadrangle with a Royal Salute and Mr. Michael Duheme (Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police) presented His Majesty with the Ceremonial Sword and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Horse, Noble.
The High Commissioner for Canada in London (His Excellency the Hon. Ralph Goodale) was present.

The King, accompanied by The Queen Consort, this afternoon presented a new Standard and Colours at Buckingham Palace.
The King presented a new Standard to the Life Guards of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment and was received at The King's Door by Lieutenant General Sir Edward Smyth-Osbourne (Gold Stick-in-Waiting) and General Sir Patrick Sanders (Chief of the General Staff) before moving to the Quadrangle and being received with a Royal Salute.
After the Standard was consecrated, The King presented the new Standard to the Regiment.
The Parade subsequently marched past His Majesty and off Parade.
The King, accompanied by The Queen Consort, presented new Colours to the Royal Navy, the Grenadier Guards and the Royal Air Force and was received by Admiral Sir Antony Radakin (Chief of the Defence Staff) and the Bishop to the Forces (the Right Reverend Hugh Nelson).
Their Majesties were received in the Garden with a Royal Salute.
After the Colours were consecrated, The King presented new Colours to the Royal Navy, the Grenadier Guards and the Royal Air Force.
His Majesty was graciously pleased to address the Parade and the Chief of the Defence Staff replied.
The Parade subsequently marched past The King and The Queen Consort and off Parade.
Later, the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba (the Hon. Anita Neville) was received by The King.
Ms. Jessica Neville (daughter) was also received by His Majesty.
The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta (the Hon. Salma Lakhani) was received by The King.
His Honour Mr. Zaheer Lakhani was also received by His Majesty.
The King was represented by The Duke of Kent at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Field Marshal the Lord Bramall KG (formerly Chief of the Defence Staff) which was held in Winchester Cathedral this afternoon.
The Queen Consort was represented by The Duchess of Gloucester.
The Princess Royal was represented by Marshal of the Royal Air Force the Lord Stirrup KG.
