Buckingham Palace

The King and The Queen Consort this morning arrived at Micklegate Bar, York, and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mrs. Johanna Ropner) and the Lord Mayor of York (Councillor David Carr), who surrendered to The King and The Queen Consort the Sword of the City, which Their Majesties returned to him.

The King and The Queen Consort afterwards drove to York Minster and were received at the Great West Door by the Archbishop of York (the Most Reverend and Rt. Hon. Stephen Cottrell) and the Acting Dean of York Minster (Canon Michael Smith).

Their Majesties attended a Service to mark the Unveiling and Blessing of a Statue of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The King, accompanied by The Queen Consort, afterwards unveiled a statue of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the West Front of the Minster.

The King, accompanied by The Queen Consort, having been received at the Mansion House, 45 High Street, Doncaster, by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Dame Hilary Chapman) and the Civic Mayor of Doncaster (Councillor Ian Pearson), this afternoon conferred City Status on Doncaster and subsequently attended a Reception for members of the local community.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria visited His Majesty this afternoon.
