The King this morning attended the Graduation of the One Thousandth King's Nursing Cadet at the Royal College of Nursing, 20 Cavendish Square, London W1, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London) and the General Secretary and Chief Executive of the Royal College of Nursing (Professor Nicola Ranger).

His Majesty viewed demonstrations by current Cadets of nursing scenarios and attended a Reception for participants and alumni of The King's Nursing Cadet Programme.

The King, Patron, Royal Commonwealth Society, this afternoon planted a Tree in the garden of Buckingham Palace to commemorate The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy initiative.

The King and Queen this afternoon attended the Commonwealth Day Service of Celebration in Westminster Abbey, London SW1, and were received by the Dean of Westminster (the Very Reverend Dr. David Hoyle) and the Chairman of the Council of Commonwealth Societies (Dr. Linda Yueh).

The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Princess Royal and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were also present.

The King later launched the Commonwealth Sport King's Baton Relay for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games from the Quadrangle of Buckingham Palace.
