Members of the Royal Family thank key workers on the frontline of the Coronavirus pandemic

Today, members of the Royal Family met key workers who have been carrying out their jobs on the frontline of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and thanked staff who have been working at the hospital throughout the pandemic.

Their Royal Highnesses spoke to a range of healthcare professionals including clinicians, volunteers, junior doctors and members of the domestic team.

During the socially-distanced visit, The Duchess said: “There is nothing like being able to thank the NHS staff face-to-face even if the choreography is a little bit different! They are Britain at its best.”

The Prince also praised the “marvellous cooperation” of all involved.

The Duke of Cambridge meanwhile was welcomed to Kings Lynn Ambulance Station at Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he heard from staff about their experiences over recent months in responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Duke heard from the crew about their impact on mental health and wellbeing, the support they have received from members of the public and local businesses, as well as help from volunteering networks.

The England Ambulance Service Trust provides round-the-clock accident and emergency services to 6.2 million people living in the East of England, operating over 130 sites and working closely with other blue lights partners to ensure that every patient receives the best possible care.

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Logistics Corps, visited the Duke of Gloucester Barracks, where she met personnel who have been playing their part in the British Army's response to the pandemic. Over the past months, Royal Logistics Corps personnel have provided support to regional testing sites, worked with the NHS and contractors to deliver the new Nightingale Hospitals, and stepped in as ambulance drivers
