A message from The Queen following the recent attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils

We will remember our past, but we shall no longer allow our past to ensnare our future. This is the greatest gift we can give to succeeding generations.

We are forever grateful to all those who put themselves at risk to keep us safe.

Our people have had a close friendship ever since the first British diplomatic mission was established in Korea 130 years ago.

The Regimental Association is the very embodiment of the Regimental Family and I trust that it will thrive equally well over the next century too!

I have long held an admiration for the work of engineers, a sentiment that is shared by other members of my family.

It is a great pleasure to visit the BBC today, and to see it in its new home.

Your visit this week is a chance to celebrate the depth of our partnership – a partnership that continues to grow and strengthen.

I hope the carefully chosen words of the Charter will reinvigorate efforts, already begun, to make the Commonwealth fit and agile for the years ahead.
