THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY THE COMMUNICATIONS SECRETARY TO THE QUEEN
The President of the United Mexican States, Señor Enrique Peña Nieto, accompanied by Señora Angélica Rivera de Peña, has accepted an invitation from The Queen to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from the 3rd to 5th of March 2015.
The President and Señora Rivera de Peña will stay at Buckingham Palace.
Background
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have paid two State Visits to the United Mexican States in 1975 and 1983.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have hosted State Visits by Mexican Presidents in 1973, 1985 and 2009.
The visit follows The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall's visit to Mexico in October.
