The Olympic Torch Relay and Royal Residences

THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY THE PRESS SECRETARY TO THE QUEEN
The Olympic Torch Relay will travel through the grounds of four Royal Residences on its way to the Stadium for the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games on Friday, 27th July.
The Queen will view the Olympic Flame at Windsor Castle on 10th July, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will see the Torch carried by three Torchbearers at Buckingham Palace on 26th July.
The Torch will also travel through the Balmoral Estate in Scotland and the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. There will be no members of the Royal Family present during either time.
The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will officially open the Olympic Games at the Olympic Stadium on Friday, 27th July.
