The Prince and Princess of Wales visit Scarborough

The Prince and Princess of Wales spent the day in Scarborough to launch funding to support young people’s mental health, in a collaboration spearheaded by the Royal Foundation.
The first stop was at ‘The Street’, which is a community hub that hosts local organisations to grow and develop their services.
The Prince and Princess of Wales met a ‘grant panel’ of young people, who will distribute new funding that has been secured by The Royal Foundation and Two Ridings Community Foundation.
The panel will help distribute the funding to community-led organisations working with young people in the area.
During the visit, Their Royal Highnesses heard how the grant decisions have been made and learnt more about this funding will make a difference.
The Prince and Princess then visited the Rainbow Centre, an organisation that offers an open door to the community of Scarborough and help and support to anyone in need.
Their Royal Highnesses heard from volunteers and staff at the centre around how they create wraparound support for service users which helps to build strong communities that support people practically as well as emotionally.
During the visit, The Prince and Princess learnt about the work The Rainbow Centre have been doing to help people to cope with the rising cost of living through services such as food and clothes banks as well as offering a place to shower and do laundry.
