The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall tour Canada House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall toured Canada House in London today to view the recent restoration works.

Canada House in Trafalgar Square is home to the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom, and underwent extensive refurbishment works last year. The revitalised building draws upon the diverse talents of Canadian artists and craftspeople to deliver a building that celebrates the very best of Canada in the 21st century. 

The High Commission of Canada is one of the country’s largest overseas missions, offering a range of services included consular support, trade promotion, foreign policy and diplomatic services, the Canadian defence liaison, and immigration and visa processing.

Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by The High Commissioner for Canada, Mr. Gordon Campbell, before touring the newly refurbished rooms, which reflect the different provinces and individualities that make up Canada. Canada House was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen in February 2015. 

During the visit, The Prince and The Duchess met architects who were involved in the project, as well as representatives from the Canadian military and The Prince’s Charities Canada. Before leaving, Their Royal Highnesses signed the visitors book.
