The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visit Hull

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visit Hull as the city begins its year as the UK City of Culture in 2017.
The Prince and The Duchess were greeted by crowds in Hull as they arrived to visit the newly refurbished Ferens Art Gallery.
Their Royal Highnesses met several staff who have worked on the gallery's refurbishment and toured the exhibits.
The Ferens will host the Turner Prize for contemporary art and other events during the year-long City of Culture arts festival.
The Prince of Wales visited the city's Holy Trinity church, which was founded in 1285. The Prince also saw a rehearsal of the Royal Shakespeare Company's ‘The Hypocrite’ at Holy Apostles Church, which is to be used as a performance space for projects throughout Hull.
The Duchess of Cornwall met staff and volunteers at homeless charity, Emmaus Hull and East Riding. Emmaus supports formerly homeless people by giving them a place to live and meaningful work, helping to boost self-esteem.
The Duchess went on to visit the literacy charity First Story at The Deep, where she presented prizes to five young winners of Hull's 100-word writing competition.
