Princess Alexandra meets Pet Patients at new PDSA Hospital

Princess Alexandra has opened a new PDSA hospital in Oldbury, a state-of-the-art centre helping the pets of people in need.
The new hospital, named The Marian and Christina Ionescu Centre of Surgical Excellence, has already treated nearly 12,000 poorly pets from across Birmingham and the Black Country since it began operating in July last year. The £1.8 million facility boasts spacious facilities including separate cat and dog waiting areas, and also acts as a teaching hospital for training vets.
During her tour The Princess met Bobby the crossbreed and a two week-old kitten.

Princess Alexandra is Patron of PDSA, the UK's leading veterinary charity, which now runs 51 Pet Hospitals.
Ian Fleming, the Senior Vet at the new Hospital, said "Our amazing donors and supporters made our new Pet Hospital a reality. Now thousands of pets across the region are benefitting from the new centre and will do for many years to come."
