Princess Alexandra visits the Clink Restaurant, HMP Brixton

Published 20 May 2016

Princess Alexandra has met prisoners working in the Clink Restaurant at Her Majesty's Prison Brixton, to celebrate New Bridge Foundation's sixtieth anniversary.

The Princess is Patron of New Bridge, a charity which runs a befriending service connecting prisoners with volunteers who support their reintegration into society.

The Clink Charity aims to reduce reoffending by training prisoners in the hospitality industry. Clink Restaurants are staffed by prisoners who are working towards hospitality and catering qualifications which will help them to gain employment upon release.

During her visit, Princess Alexandra met prisoners who work as waiters in the restaurant, and also visited the kitchens to meet the chefs.
