The Princess Royal visits Cornwall

The day started with a visit to the Cornish Cheese Company, who are famous for producing the Cornish Blue, which in 2010 it was the World Cheese champion.

Her Royal Highness was given a tour of the award winning company, meeting a number of the staff who have made the local business such a success.

The Princess Royal is Patron of the Restorative Justice Council, and during her visit to Cornwall she was able to the developments in Cornwall's schools which have been supported by the Cornish social enterprise, RJ Working.

RJ Working offers training and support to Cornwall’s primary and secondary schools, as well as colleges and universities, to help students and staff together to develop more ways of responding well to difficult and challenging situations.

Her Royal Highness also had the opportunity to visit Truro Cathedral and offer support for their 'Sign-A-Slate' appeal to raise for funds their new roof.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also signed slates for the Cathedral's roof appeal when they visited Cornwall in 2016.

The day visited with a trip to the Save the Children Charity shop in Constantine, Falmouth to meet some the volunteers who have raised over £350,000 for the charity.

Her Royal Highness is Patron of Save the Children, which works in the UK and 120 other countries supporting over 60 million children worldwide.

Sally Coot, a volunteer from the Constantine shop, was then awarded with a long service medal.
