The Princess Royal visits Gloucestershire

The Princess visited three different organisations across the county, which included a visit to Gloucestershire Archives to see historic documents relating to her home, Gatcombe Park.
Yesterday The Princess Royal spent the day in Gloucestershire, visiting different businesses and charities in the area and meeting local people.
Her Royal Highness opened the newly renovated Jefferies Arena at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex, YOSC, in the morning.
HRH spoke with coaches and athletes and viewed demonstrations of sports such as shot-put, javelin and long jump.
The charity was set up to save the previous complex from closing; volunteers work to maintain facilities and make them available to the wider community.
As Patron of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, The Princess Royal then met caseworkers and clients of the Thornbury branch.
CAB offer free, impartial advice and information on a number of areas, including employment, benefits and housing.
Lastly, The Princess Royal visited Gloucestershire Archives, where HRH opened and toured the new Heritage Hub.
Her Royal Highness viewed a selection of Royal Charters and historic documents relating to her home, Gatcombe Park, and met staff and volunteers.
