Royal visit to Singapore

THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY THE PRESS SECRETARY TO THE QUEEN

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will pay a State Visit to Singapore 16-18 March 2006.

Background

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh last paid a State Visit to Singapore in 1989. The Queen previously visited Singapore in 1972.

The State Visit to Singapore will follow The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh's visit to Australia 12-16 March 2006, for the opening of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
