On Easter Sunday, The Prince of Wales sent an Easter Message:

Members of The Royal Family also attended the Easter Mattins Service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Wednesday 20 April

The Countess of Wessex was announced as the new Royal Patron of the Dispensaire Français, one of the oldest French charities in London, of which Queen Victoria was the first patron. 

To mark the announcement, Her Royal Highness visited their offices, where she was welcomed by Ambassador Colonna, met staff and doctors before sharing a coffee with volunteers and members of the social club.

Thursday 21 April

The Queen celebrated her 96th Birthday! 

To mark the occasion, a new photo was released of Her Majesty with two of her fell ponies, which was taken last month in the ground of Windsor Castle.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Disasters Emergency Committee headquarters in London, to find out more about their ongoing appeal to support those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.

During the visit, Their Royal Highnesses had the opportunity to speak to recently returned aid workers and, via a video call, with those on the ground in Ukraine to learn more about their work and hear about the human impact of the conflict.

The Princess Royal, Admiral of the Sea Cadets, toured the Marine Society and Sea Cadets flagship, TS ROYALIST, under sail in the Solent.

Her Royal Highness also, in her role as Patron, visited the National Museum of the Royal Navy to open the Landing Craft Tank exhibit at the D-Day Story.

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron of the Trimontium Trust, visited the Trimontium Fort site and opened their new Museum.

Trimontium Roman fort is the largest Roman fort and settlement north of Hadrian’s Wall and the site of one of the largest concentrations of Roman military-related finds in the British Isles.

His Royal Highness, Grand Prior of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, later attended a Lecture to celebrate the Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the birth of Sir Walter Scott and the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the formation of St. John Scotland.

Friday 22 April

To mark Earth Day, The Prince of Wales launched a challenge to encourage all young people to draw or paint a future they would like to see.

The Duke of Gloucester visited Earlston Path Group in Berwickshire, to meet the volunteers who develop and maintain sustainable walking paths for locals and visitors.
