Sunday 17 July

The Duchess of Cornwall celebrated her 75th birthday, with new photos released to mark the occasion. 

Monday 18 July

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall started their three-day visit to Devon and Cornwall in the Cornish fishing village of Mousehole.

Along the harbour, Their Royal Highnesses met residents and visitors including Esme Page, who runs Cornwall Hugs Grenfell, a charity that provides holidays for families affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

At Newlyn Harbour, The Princes and Duchess then met local fishermen and heard about their sustainable fishing practices. 

At Boconnoc House, Their Royal Highnesses attended a Garden Party to mark the 70th anniversary of His Royal Highness being head of The Duchy of Cornwall.

The Prince of Wales became the 24th Duke of Cornwall on The Queen's accession to the throne in 1952. 

As Patron of the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, The Princess Royal attended the club’s One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary Sailing Regatta.

Swan Upping, the annual census of the swan population on a particular stretch of the River Thames, got underway for 2022.

Now with an important conservation role, the Swan Uppers count, weigh and measure the cygnets and check them for any signs of injury, commonly caused by fishing hooks and line.  

Tuesday 19 July

The Queen held a number of Audiences via video-link from Windsor Castle, including the His Excellency Mr. Khaled Al-Duwaisan who had a farewell audience as he relinquished his appointment as Ambassador from the State of Kuwait.

Her Majesty also received the incoming Ambassador to the United States, Her Excellency Ms. Jane Hartley.

Continuing their visit in Cornwall, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited Launceston, where His Royal Highness was proclaimed The Duke of Cornwall in 1973.

During their visit, Their Royal Highnesses toured Launceston’s Market Square, meeting stall holders at a local farmers market and saw the inaugural Launceston dance parade, performed by local children.

As the Innovative Farmers' programme marks its 10th anniversary, His Royal Highness visited Trefranck Farm and had a look around the herbal leys demonstration field.

Meanwhile, The Duchess of Cornwall met children and older people involved in Silver Stories, at Charlestown School. The charity arranges children to read over the phone to older members of the community, who may be isolated or vulnerable. 

The Princess Royal visited the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells, and later visited E.L. Lewis and Sons in Dilwyn to mark their 200th anniversary.

Her Royal Highness then visited Safelane Global, a company that has received The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for their work to clear mines and explosives across the world.

Wednesday 20 July

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were in Devon, where they visited Torquay to mark the two hundredth anniversary of the Coastguard.

Their Royal Highnesses also visited Cockington Court, a centre of creativity which is operated by Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust.

On board HMS Queen Elizabeth, The Prince and Duchess attended a reception to mark 40 years since the end of the Falklands Conflict.

At the Hyde Park Bombing Memorial, The Princess Royal, Colonel of The Blues and Royals, laid a wreath at service of remembrance to commemorate 40 years since the bombing.

The Princess then, as Patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, attended a reception at the University of Northampton.

Her Royal Highness also opened the recently redeveloped Chester House Estate.

A nationally significant heritage site, the Chester House Estate is one of the few places in the UK which can demonstrate over 10,000 years of human activity. Following restoration, the site has been developed into a sustainable visitor destination with access for the public to learn about the history and heritage, as well as becoming the location to house countywide archaeological finds. 

The Duchess of Gloucester, as Patron of Turn2us, visited Merlewood Care Home.

Thursday 21 July

The Princess Royal officially opened the offices of Teignbridge Propellers International and later visited Lundy North and Lundy South lighthouses at Lundy Island.

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor of the University of Surrey, presided at the Undergraduate Degree Ceremony in Guildford Cathedral.

Friday 22 July

Prince George celebrated his ninth Birthday, with a new photograph released to mark the occasion. 

The Irish Guards played Happy Birthday at Changing the Guard to celebrate.

Buckingham Palace opened its doors for the annual summer opening, which this year features a display focusing on The Queen's Accession to the thone.
