Sunday 20 February

After British success in the curling at the Beijing Winter Olympics, The Queen sent a message of congratulations:

I send my warmest congratulations to the Team GB Women’s Curling team on your outstanding performance in winning the Gold Medal at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, following the Silver Medal achieved by the Men’s Curling team yesterday.

I know that your local communities and people throughout the United Kingdom will join me in sending our good wishes to you, your coaches and the friends and family who have supported you in your great success. 

Monday 21 February

Following the closing ceremony for the Beijing Winter Olympics, The Princess Royal, who is President of the British Olympic Association sent a message to TeamGB:

A message of condolence was also sent by The Queen to the people of Brazil following flooding in the city of Petrópolis, Brazil.

Tuesday 22 February

The Prince of Wales was in Hereford to tour Hereford Cathedral and meet farmers and families who live and work on the Duchy of Cornwall Estate in the county.

The Duke of Cambridge and The Princess Royal both hosted an Investiture Ceremony at Windsor Castle.

The Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Denmark for a two-day visit to the country, to learn about the Danish approach to early childhood development and to explore how The Centre for Early Childhood can take learnings from this world-leading work.

On the first day of the trip, Her Royal Highness visited the Copenhagen Infant Mental Health Programme (CIMPH) at the University of Copenhagen, the Children’s Museum and the LEGO PlayLab.

At Windsor Castle, The Princess Royal announced six winners of the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Covid Unsung Hero awards, in recognition of the women who helped to improve lives and communities during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Duke of Kent hosted a reception at St James's Palace in his role of Patron of the British-German Association. Founded in 1951, the Association is a British charity that promotes mutual understanding and friendship between the UK and Germany.

Wednesday 23 February

Via telephone, The Queen had one of her weekly audiences with the Prime Minister.

The Duchess of Cambridge continued her visit to Denmark, starting the day at Stenurten Forest Kindergarten, before visiting Amalienborg, the home of the Danish Royal family, where she was received by The Queen and Crown Princess of Denmark.

Joined by The Crown Princess, The Duchess then visited The Danner Crisis Centre, a domestic violence shelter for women and children. You read more about her visit here.

The Princess Royal hosted an Investiture at Windsor Castle, and later visited HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs in her role as Patron of the Butler Trust.

The Duchess of Gloucester was in Hertfordshire, where she celebrated 65th anniversary of the Bobath Centre. Her Royal Highness is Patron of the charity which provides specialist treatment and training to maximise potential of children and adults living with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions. 

The Duchess also visited ASCEND, a local charity that serves the community by providing employment support, health and wellbeing activities and a wide range of community learning opportunities.

The 23rd also marked 100 days until the Platinum Jubilee Celebration Weekend in June, and to mark this occasion Buckingham Palace was transformed into the One Show's studio for a live broadcast of show, which outlined all the ways you can get involved in this historic year.

Thursday 24 February

At 07:00 the ballot for the Platinum Party at the Palace opened. There was further Jubilee news as it was announced that members of the Royal Family will undertake a series of Royal Tours in the Spring of 2022.

The Duchess of Cornwall was a guest on BBC Breakfast and BBC Woman's Hour to discuss her work with domestic violence.

The Countess of Wessex returned to The Lighthouse in Woking to officially open the Jigsaw hub, their community space and ‘baby bank’, providing clothing, toys, and equipment for families with children under five.

Her Royal Highness has previously volunteered at The Lighthouse, the charity who run the Jigsaw hub, a number of times, most recently at Christmas.
