Saturday 2nd April

The Princess Royal, Patron of the Royal College of Midwives, visited NHS Grampian at Inverurie Community Maternity Unit.

As Patron of the National Austistic Society, The Countess of Wessex released a message to mark World Austism Day.

Monday 4th April

The Princess Royal, President of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), visited the Wellow Group at Kilkenny Stables, Bath.

For over 50 years, Her Royal Highness has been connected to the RDA - a charity that provides activities like riding and carriage driving for children and adults with disabilities.

The Princess later opened The Queen's Royal Hussars Regimental Museum in Warwick.

The Duke of Edinburgh was Colonel-in-Chief of The Queen's Royal Hussars, The Queen's Own and Royal Irish.

Tuesday 5th April

The Queen held two virtual Audiences with incoming Ambassador’s who presented their Letters of Credence. Also known as 'Credentials', this is a formal letter from the diplomat's Head of State to The Queen asking her to give 'credence' to the new Ambassador or High Commissioner.

Her Majesty received both His Excellency Mr. Pascal Gayama, Ambassador from the Republic of the Congo, and His Excellency Mr. Salah Mrehil, Ambassador from Libya.

The Prince of Wales was in County Durham, where he was joined by Queen Letizia of Spain to officially open the the Spanish Gallery at Auckland Castle, which is the first UK gallery dedicated to the art, history and culture of Spain.

His Royal Highness also visited Darlington Farmers Auction Mart and the Kromek Group. 

The Princess Royal hosted an Investiture Ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Among those honoured was Rob Burrow, who received and MBE for services to rugby and to Motor Neurone Disease awareness. 

Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, also attended a Service of Reflection and Remembrance at St. Paul's Cathedral on the Fortieth Anniversary of the Departure of the South Atlantic Task Force for the Falkland Islands.

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Strawberry Hill Trust, visited Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham, London.

Wednesday 6th April

The Queen, Patron, Royal London Hospital, officially opened and named the Queen Elizabeth Unit at the Royal London Hospital via video link.

The Prince of Wales was in Cumbria, where he visited Tebay Services and then later met business owners, members of the farming community, and resettled refugee families near Penrith.

Meanwhile The Duchess of Cornwall was in Hampshire, where she visited Jane Austen’s House. Now a museum, this cottage was where Jane Austen wrote all of her six novels, and it now houses an unparalleled collection of Austen treasures.

Her Royal Highness later opened Maggie’s Southampton. The Duchess is Patron of Maggie’s, a charity that provides free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online.

The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, the Security Institute visited Next Generation Training at Boughton House Estate.

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Heritage of London Trust, and Ranger, Epping Forest Heritage Trust visited Wanstead Grotto.

Thursday 7th April

The Queen held two further virtual Audiences for new Ambassadors.

The Prince of Wales, known as The Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, planted a commemorative tree at Dumfries House for the 1994 Rwanda genocide.

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Japan Society, and The Duchess of Gloucester viewed the Japan: Courts and Culture’ Exhibition at The Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace.

Friday 8th April

Following the preview the night before, the Royal Collection’s new exhibition officially opened to the public.

Japan: Courts and Culture' tells the story of 300 years of diplomatic, artistic and cultural exchanges between the British and Japanese Royal and Imperial families.
