Sunday 30 January

The Prince of Wales sent a message of congratulations to all of those who celebrate Lunar New Year:

“My wife and I would like to wish a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to all those in China – and everyone celebrating the new Lunar Year across the world.” - The Prince of Wales

Monday 31 January

The Prince of Wales celebrated the success of the UK Space Industry, visiting Astroscale Limited to hear how they are working to clean up space debris.

His Royal Highness also visited the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, to learn more about how the technology could play a key role in addressing climate change.

Tuesday 1 February

Two Investitures were held at Windsor Castle, with The Prince of Wales and The Princess Royal each hosting a ceremony, where they awarded a range of honours to people from across the UK.

Later, The Prince of Wales joined The Duchess of Cornwall for a visit to Chinatown in London to celebrate the Year of the Tiger and met members of the local community.

The 2022 Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering was announced by The Princess Royal:

The RAF Regiment were celebrating 80 years to the day since they were formed by King George VI with a special ‘Blue on Blue’ Guard Change at Buckingham Palace, which was viewed by The Duke of Kent, Honorary Air Chief Marshal.

The Countess of Wessex, in her role as Patron of the UK Armed Forces Winter Sports Association, attended the Inter-Services Snow Sports Championships and presented medals.

Wednesday 2 February

The Duchess of Cambridge was announced as the new Patron of the Rugby Football League and England Rugby.

Her Royal Highness visited the home of English Rugby, Twickenham Stadium, to mark the announcement and had the chance to meet players, coaches, referees and support staff to hear more about their hopes for the upcoming year, including the Women’s World Cup.

It was a busy day in Kent for The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall who visited a number of local organisations and meet the people behind them. After meeting local community groups who are supported by Sheppey Matters, The Prince of Wales also visited Elmley Nature Reserve and Historic Dockyard Chatham.

The Duchess Cornwall had the chance to tour Battersea's Brands Hatch Centre, open the new Charles Dickens exhibition at the Guildhall Museum Rochester, and meet the volunteers behind the Medway Aircraft Preservation Society.

The Princess Royal hosted another Investiture at Windsor Castle, getting the chance to honour even more people for the work they do to support their communities.

Thursday 3 February

The Prince of Wales, Founder and President of The Prince’s Foundation, was accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duchess of Cambridge for a visit The Foundation’s Trinity Buoy Wharf, a training site for arts and culture.

The Prince’s Foundation offers a diverse range of innovative and inspiring education and training programmes for all ages and backgrounds, from traditional arts and heritage craft skills, to architecture and design, science, engineering, horticulture, wellbeing and hospitality. 

Ahead of the Beijing Winter Olympics, The Earl of Wessex caught up with two winter Olympians, Dave Ryding and Kirsty Muir to hear more about their sports and wish them luck.

His Royal Highness also visited Reading Rep Theatre, where he had the chance to view an early rehearsal of the company’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. 

The Earl also met young performing arts students from Reading College, who were honing their craft at a workshop at the theatre.

Friday 4 February

As President of the British Olympic Association, The Princess Royal sent a message of good luck to Team GB as the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony got underway in Beijing.

Joint Presidents of Cancer Research UK, The Duke of Gloucester and Princess Alexandra marked the charity’s 20th anniversary with a message:
