Saturday 4 June

It was the third day of the Platinum Jubilee Celebration Weekend – you can catch up on all the events here.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, joined by Prince George and Princess Charlotte, visited Cardiff Castle where they met those involved in the special Platinum Jubilee Celebration Concert taking place in the Castle grounds.

Meanwhile, The Earl and Countess of Wessex were in Northern Ireland, where they spent time in Belfast and Bangor – which was granted city status in this Jubilee year.

There was a spectacular finish to the day, with the BBC Platinum Party and the Palace, which brought together famous faces from the world of entertainment to perform for a night of musical tributes to celebrate The Queen's 70-year reign.

Though The Queen did not attend in person, Her Majesty kicked off the party in style, joined by another national treasure:

Sunday 5 June

The final day of the Platinum Jubilee Celebration Weekend got underway with The Big Jubilee Lunch events.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, who is Patron of the Big Lunch, attended the flagship Jubilee event at the Oval in London.

In Windsor, The Earl and Countess of Wessex joined local residents on the famous Long Walk, where nearly 500 picnic benches had been laid for the celebrations.

In London, the Platinum Jubilee Pageant took to the streets, bringing to life iconic moments from The Queen’s reign as well as showcasing our changing society over the past 70 years.

10,000 people were involved, including the military, over 6,000 volunteers, performers, key workers and 2,500 members of the general public.

The weekend came to end as The Queen came onto the Buckingham Palace Balcony, where she was joined by The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Her Majesty then issued a message of thanks after a fantastic celebration weekend.

Tuesday 7 June

General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith was received by The Queen today upon relinquishing his appointment as Chief of the General Staff.

The Duke of Cambridge hosted an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex arrived in Gibraltar, where they visited on behalf of The Queen in this special Platinum Jubilee year.

There was a military welcome for Their Royal Highnesses, who then visited local marine conservation organisation, Project Nautilus.

The Princess Royal, Patron of British Cardiovascular Society, attended the Centenary Conference in Manchester.

Later Her Royal Highness attended a Beating Retreat at the Palace of Westminster to commemorate the Fortieth Anniversary of the Falkland Islands Conflict.

Wednesday 8 June

The Queen had her weekly Audience with Prime Minister via telephone.

At Windsor Castle, The Prince of Wales held an Investiture Ceremony, with Sir David Attenborough among the recipients as he picked up his insignia for a Knight Grand Cross for the Order of St Michael and St George.

The Duchess of Cambridge visited Little Village’s hub in Brent, where she heard how the baby bank is supporting local families by ensuring that they have access to essential items for their young children.

Little Village is London’s largest baby bank network with eight locations across the capital, providing a warm, supportive community for families who might be going through tough times.

On the second day in Gibraltar, The Earl and Countess of Wessex met residents at the Moorish Castle Estate, with The Countess then spending time at two local charities: The Clubhouse and The Adapted Surfing Project.

The Earl was shown Gibraltar’s newly-restored Northern Defences, before rejoining The Countess for a Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award celebration.

His Royal Highness then paid a visit to the University of Gibraltar and later, in his role as Commodore in Chief of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, met crew members from RFA ARGUS.

Meanwhile, The Countess got involved in some sporting activities at the Special Olympics, before joining Girl Guides and Scouts at Gibraltar’s Scouts Retreat Centre.

Thursday 9 June

At Buckingham Palace, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall hosted a Reception to celebrate the Commonwealth Diaspora of the United Kingdom ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Rwanda.

The Duchess, who is Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles, attended the Rifles Sounding Retreat – a spectacular evening of unique military music and pageantry.

Her Royal Highness was joined by The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, who Colonels-in-Chief of the 6th and 7th Battalions respectively.

It was the final day of The Earl and Countess of Wessex’s trip to Gibraltar, where they presented members of the emergency services with Platinum Jubilee medals, before attending The Queen’s Birthday Parade.

The visit finished at St Martin’s School, where they opened the new ‘Wessex Campus’ and planted a tree to commemorate their time in Gibraltar and mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Friday 10 June

As The Prince of Wales celebrates 70 years as Duke of Cornwall, His Royal Highness Patron, the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, attended the Royal Cornwall show accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall who is Vice President of the show.

The Princess Royal, Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Logistic Corps, inspected 10 The Queen's Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment on public duties at St. James's Palace. The Princess also attended the 17 Port and Maritime Regiment Dinner  to commemorate the Fortieth Anniversary of the Falkland Islands Conflict. 

The Duke of Kent, as President of Royal National Lifeboat Institution, attended a Service of Rededication of the former lifeboat, SIR WILLIAM ARNOLD, as an Education Centre and Museum at St. Katharine Docks in London.
