A speech by Prince Harry at the University of the West Indies Law Facility, Jamaica

Published 06 March 2012

I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you, Vice-Chancellor.  Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is a great honour for me to be here in Jamaica representing The Queen.  ‬‪Her Majesty is, of course, Visitor of the University of the West Indies, and so I feel doubly proud today to be extending her heartfelt good wishes to you, the Faculty and students of this wonderful university.  ‬‪

I am so honoured, too, that you have bestowed on me an honorary fellowship. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And, I have to say, that it is rather more restful being here - having just emerged from the relative tranquillity of the Moot Court - than it was an hour ago, when I was being put through my paces by the world's fastest star - who I beat, by the way.

Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you very much for your great kindness in welcoming me amongst you so warmly.  And, now, it just remains for me to pull the cord!
