Your Excellency,
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls from the schools of the Bahamas. Thank you for your wonderful welcome.
I bring you great good wishes from Queen Elizabeth II on this very special occasion. I know Her Majesty would wish me to extend her personal encouragement to you all in your endeavours, whether they be in education, civic and community activities, or in the sporting arena. You are a magnificent spectacle, formed up in this new stadium on this blowy Bahamian morning.
In being here, taking part in the National Youth Rally, each and every one of you is promoting admirable morale, social and patriotic values. Basically you're doing your country proud and don't you look smart. The Queen would be delighted by this and, on her behalf, I congratulate you all.
In Her Majesty's Jubilee Year, it is clear to me that the young people of The Bahamas are living up to the Country's motto, 'Forward, Upward, Onward, Together.'
Thank you for making my time here in The Bahamas such fun, and so very memorable.
