The Countess of Wessex Cup at the St John Moore Barracks

Published

Her Royal Highness attended the annual competition which sees regiments and organisations she holds honorary military appointments with compete against each other in a series of challenges

The four teams competing in 2019 were RAF Wittering, The Royal Corps of Army Music, Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps and 5th Battalion The Rifles.

First up was an assault course which saw teams compete against the clock, and tested their general fitness, strength and balance.

A round in the swimming pool where each team had to build a life raft was more about working together, and using practical construction skills.

And a session in the gym saw The Countess get hands on, testing and judging the ‘armoured vehicles' which had been put together by each team.
