Tonight, The Prince of Wales announced that @katyperry is to be an Ambassador for @thebritishasiantrust Children’s Protection Fund for India.

The Trust was founded by The Prince in 2007 after he witnessed widespread poverty and hardship faced by families in South Asia. 📸 Press Association

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in South Wales today, visiting businesses big and small and meeting volunteers whose work is at the heart of the local communities.
🏭 Tata Steel in Port Talbot is a vital employer in the area, providing over 4,000 jobs to members of the local community. Their Royal Highnesses met employees and their families and spent time in the plant’s Hot Strip Mill and in its Training Academy.
🚤 The Royal National Lifeboat Institution Mumbles Lifeboat station is one of the busiest in Wales. The Duke and Duchess spoke to crew members about day-to-day life as part of a team which provides 24-hour rescue services to those facing difficulties at sea.
🍦 Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by crowds on The Mumbles seafront before enjoying a local treat - a trip to Joe’s Ice Cream Parlour, where the gelato is freshly churned each day.
🥊 At the Bulldogs Development Centre, The Duke and Duchess learnt how the organisation helps support young people in the community who may have been affected by adverse childhood experiences and mental health issues, and gives them a sense of belonging through fitness and boxing.

Today, The Prince of Wales visited @tkmaxxuk in Tooting to meet young people who have taken part in @princestrust’s ‘Get into Retail’ programme.

The programme offers specialist training and roles to young people, many of whom remain employees in TK Maxx stores.

TK Maxx's partnership with The Prince's Trust has helped over 1,000 young people since 2013.

The Prince also joined a discussion with people who have been supported by @princestrust to hear about what it’s like to be a young Londoner today and the challenges they have overcome to gain stable employment.

✈️🎖The Queen, Honorary Air Commodore visited @rafmarham in Norfolk today.

RAF Marham is a military airbase, with over 3600 working personnel. The airbase provides engineering support across the RAF and is home to the F-35B Lightning, a military aircraft.

The Queen visited the Integrated Training Centre, which provides future pilots with thorough training and enables them to qualify as a Lightning Plane pilot.

Her Majesty watched a demonstration of simulation-based training. This special training enables new pilots to practice flying planes without being in the air.

The Countess of Wessex visits the next generation of young professionals and their mentors at a @dofeuk Women’s Network Forum event at the London Stock Exchange.

The Countess is Chair of the @dofeuk Women’s Network Forum, which she founded in 2014.

The forum brings together a cross-industry group of senior representatives from a variety of organisations and businesses to champion and promote gender balance and equality in the workplace.

At the event young girls from secondary schools across London shared their career aspirations with The Countess and their mentors, and discussed the steps they are taking to achieve their goals.

2020 is the Year of the Nurse and Midwife and at the turn of the year, The Princess Royal, Patron of The @midwives_rcm, sent an open letter to express her “profound admiration” to them for the work that they do.

At @nordenfarm in Maidenhead, The Earl of Wessex met the son of Sir Nicholas Winton and one of ‘Nicky’s Children’, John Fieldsend.

Sir Nicholas rescued 669 children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia in the nine months before war broke out in 1939, ensuring their safe passage to Britain and finding them homes.

John Fieldsend, one of Nicky’s children, was saved by Sir Nicholas before the start of the war. He was only seven years old when he said goodbye to his family and escaped to England with his brother.

The story only became known to the public in 1988 when it featured on ‘That’s Life’, a BBC TV programme hosted by Esther Rantzen.

In 2003, Sir Nicholas received a Knighthood from The Queen for services to humanity.

Nicholas Winton was born on 19 May 1909 and passed away in 2015 aged 106.

👦🏽👧🏼The Duchess of Cambridge has launched an online survey which will provide vital new insights into the nations thoughts and concerns on raising young children.

Conducted by The Royal Foundation, the survey aims to spark the biggest ever conversation on early childhood that will ultimately help bring about positive, lasting change for generations to come.
The Duchess kickstarted the launch of the survey during a visit to MiniBrum at Thinktank where she was shown around the interactive, child-sized mini-city by children who helped design the space and spoke to parents and carers about the survey.

The launch was followed by countrywide visits to early years organisations, including a baby sensory class at the Ely and Careau Children’s Centre in Cardiff where she heard about the support that parents receive.

At HMP Send, Her Royal Highness spoke to some of the women she met during a visit to the prison in 2015, who have since been successfully rehabilitated, released and are rebuilding their families, in addition to women currently at the prison.
The Duchess heard about the work that the Forward Trust do at HMP Send in supporting clients to improve their relationships with friends and family, including reconnecting with children.

Congratulations to @prospecthospice, who celebrated their 40th anniversary this week!

The Duchess of Cornwall joined hospice carers and family members to mark the milestone and unveiled a new embroidery, hand-sewn by Marlborough Embroiderers Guild.

The hospice supports a community of more than 300,000 people in Swindon, Marlborough and North East Wiltshire, through a range of services for patients, including support after the death of a loved one.

HRH supports the hospice in her position as President.

During her visit she had tea with members of the Bereavement Support Group, who have lost relatives supported by the charity.
