The Countess of Wessex views the #FearlessGirl statue on International Women’s Day – which was first seen in New York’s Financial District. A copy will be here in London’s Paternoster Square for the next six months.
As Chairman of the Women’s Network Forum, The Countess was attending The Market Open Ceremony for #IWD2019 at the London Stock Exchange.

Her Royal Highness is the founder and chair of the Women's Network Forum, which provides an opportunity for senior leaders from UK companies to discuss the challenges and issues businesses face in attracting, developing, retaining and advancing women in the workplace.
The #FearlessGirl bronze statue by Kristen Visbal, is a symbol of female resilience – and was commissioned to encourage gender diversity in the workplace.

The Duchess of Sussex joins an International Women's Day discussion panel

“If things are wrong and there is a lack of justice, and there is an inequality, then someone needs to say something.” On #IWD2019, The Duchess of Sussex joined female thought-leaders and activists for a discussion panel convened by The @Queens_Commonwealth_Trust – to discuss areas of concern for women globally.

Her Royal Highness has become Vice-President of The QCT and, in her new role, will focus on supporting woman and girls. The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust – of which The Queen is Patron and The Duke of Sussex is President - exists to champion, fund and connect young leaders around the world. #IWD2019

The Queen's First Instagram Post

Today, as I visit the Science Museum I was interested to discover a letter from the Royal Archives, written in 1843 to my great-great-grandfather Prince Albert.
Charles Babbage, credited as the world’s first computer pioneer, designed the “Difference Engine”, of which Prince Albert had the opportunity to see a prototype in July 1843.
In the letter, Babbage told Queen Victoria and Prince Albert about his invention the “Analytical Engine” upon which the first computer programmes were created by Ada Lovelace, a daughter of Lord Byron.
Today, I had the pleasure of learning about children’s computer coding initiatives and it seems fitting to me that I publish this Instagram post, at the Science Museum which has long championed technology, innovation and inspired the next generation of inventors.

Her Majesty The Queen held an #Investiture today at #BuckinghamPalace - congratulations to everyone who received their Honours.
British diver John Volanthen received The George Medal for his bravery in the Thai cave rescue last summer.
Six other cave divers were named in the New Year Honours and will attend their investitures throughout this year.
The George Medal was created in September 1940 during the reign of King George VI – it is awarded to civilians for acts of bravery.

“In memory of all those who lost their lives, and to the families whose lives were changed forever.” — The Sousse and Bardo Memorial is dedicated to those who lost their lives and all those affected by the attacks on the Bardo Museum on 18 March 2015, and in the resort of Port El Kantaoui, Sousse on 26 June 2015.

The centre piece of the memorial is a sculpture titled ‘Infinite Wave’ made up of 31 individual streams, each one representing the British nationals who lost their lives. The Duke of Sussex attended today’s dedication ceremony and officially opened the memorial in Cannon Hill Park, before meeting some of the families of those affected by the attacks.
