    St. James's Palace

    The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning departed from Royal Air Force Brize Norton for the Falkland Islands.

    Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Admiral Laurence, was received on arrival this afternoon at Mount Pleasant Airport by the Governor of Falkland Islands (Her Excellency Mrs. Alison Blake).

    The Hon. Mrs. Louloudis and Mr. Charles Davies are in attendance.

    The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation, this evening held an International Special Projects Dinner.

    The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Open Sight Hampshire, 25 Church Road, Bishopstoke, to celebrate their Centenary and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr. Nigel Atkinson).

    Her Royal Highness, Patron, Brendoncare Foundation, this afternoon visited a Brendoncare Club at Romsey Comrades Club, South Front, Romsey, Hampshire.

    The Prince and Princess of Wales, Joint Patrons, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon attended a Reception at Coutts and Company, 440 Strand, London WC2.

    The Princess of Wales this morning visited Reading Ukrainian Community Centre, 21 Sidmouth Street, Reading, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr. James Puxley).

    Buckingham Palace

    The following members of His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms were received by The King this morning: the Lord Ashton of Hyde who delivered up his Stick of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Captain and the Baroness Williams of Trafford who received her Stick of Office upon her appointment as Captain of His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms.

    The King was present at the Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving for Mr. Robert Kime which was held at St. James's Church, 197 Piccadilly, London W1, this afternoon.

    The Queen Consort this afternoon held an Awards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace for The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition.

    The King was represented by The Duke of Kent at the Service of Thanksgiving for Colonel Thomas Hall (former Lieutenant of His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms) which was held at the Abbey Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, High Street, Dorchester on Thames, Oxfordshire, today.

    By command of His Majesty, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Ellison Greenslade at 10 Chesterfield Street, London W1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of the Bahamas in London.

    His Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway Company at New Romney Station and was received by Mr. Nicholas Marden (Deputy Lieutenant of Kent).

    The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Peterhead Port Authority, West Pier, Peterhead, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire (Mr. Alexander Manson).

    His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Peterhead Lifeboat Station, West Pier, Peterhead.

    The Duke of Gloucester subsequently visited Lunar Fishing Company, East Quay, Peterhead.

    Her Royal Highness later attended a Service to mark the Nine Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the founding of a Priory at Dunfermline Abbey, St. Margaret Street, Dunfermline, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Fife (Mr. Robert Balfour).

    The King held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

    Dame Martina Milburn was received by His Majesty at Buckingham Palace this afternoon upon relinquishing her appointment as Group Chief Executive of The Prince's Trust.

    The Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt MP (Chancellor of the Exchequer) later had an audience of The King.

    His Majesty gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening to recognise the contribution of small businesses to the economy of the United Kingdom at which The Earl of Wessex, The Duke of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.

    The Queen Consort this afternoon presented the Royal Academy of Dance Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Award to Mr. Mikhail Baryshnikov and held a Reception at Buckingham Palace.

    Her Majesty this evening attended a Reception and Concert at St. James's Palace to mark the Centenary of the London Chamber Orchestra.
